Please Be There
Please Be There
I want to sit
with those who weep tonight
but I am far removed.
The terror of that day
will live forever
in the streets of New York City
for there
among the ashes
spirits hover and cry out
to God Almighty.
We humans do not understand
the course of transformation
deigned to bring us life one day.
Is it suffering
that hones the heart
and cries for answers?
Is it love
that takes us through the valley
of the dead
and brings us back to new life?
Please, please . . . God of love
Cosmic Christ
be there with arms outstretched
when we deliver
our souls to you
on that day of our ascent.

I was there and how the city changed that day, how the country changed that day, how each community far and wide changed and came together is/was incredible... today, this very day i work across from the site of devastation, the towers to which i called home for nearly 14 years, the 52nd floor of the north tower whose sway is ingrained to my memory... As are the shadows from their height and how the sun streamed passed them into the plaza... your piece is beautiful and Yes I believe its the love that takes us through everything, from that day to the memorial of it every year.... Love on New York City, its heart of wonders never ceases to amaze me... God blessings to all
This must have been a great personal loss for you, suzi. I'm glad you're still here and chose to stay so close to where the sadness was and keep your light burning. It's the light we all carry within that continues to shine when we remember . . .and promise to never forget... and how could we?
Thanks for sharing your heart.
